STA48C — Merrill Deluxe Torque Arrestor.
A torque arrestor mounts directly above the submersible pump, clamped to the drop pipe, where it bears the twisting force the motor generates at startup so that force loads the well casing instead of the pump and piping below it. Merrill's Deluxe Torque Arrestor is a two-piece, FDA-approved-compound design that clamps to 1" or 1-1/4" drop pipe and adjusts to fit 4" through 8" well casing.
