The Goulds RGS2012 is a 2 HP, 230V single-phase submersible grinder pump from Goulds RGS Series, part of Xylem’s Goulds Water Technology line. It is rated to handle solids up to grinds domestic sewage solids via an anti-roping, two-blade rotary cutter system with a reversible stationary cutter ring through a 1-1/4" NPT discharge, running at 3450 RPM. The table below shows this pump’s flow rate at four fixed total dynamic head (TDH) points, so you can match it to your specific lift and distance requirements.
- Horsepower: 2 HP
- Voltage / Phase: 230V Single-Phase, 60 Hz
- Speed: 3450 RPM
- Discharge: 1-1/4" NPT
- Solids Handling: grinds domestic sewage solids via an anti-roping, two-blade rotary cutter system with a reversible stationary cutter ring
- Liquid Temperature: 104°F (40°C) continuous, 140°F (60°C) intermittent
- Power Cord: 20 ft standard, 30/50/100 ft optional (bare-lead); 20 ft or 30 ft optional with NEMA plug
Flow Rate at Fixed Head (TDH):
- 10 ft. TDH: 41 GPM
- 15 ft. TDH: 38 GPM
- 20 ft. TDH: 34 GPM
- 25 ft. TDH: 28 GPM
Construction:
- Cutter System: 440C hardened stainless steel rotating cutter and cutter ring, anti-roping design
- Impeller: silicon bronze, semi-open, non-overloading two-vane design with pump-out vanes for mechanical seal protection, balanced for smooth operation
- Casing: cast iron, volute type, for high efficiency - adaptable for a guide-rail system
- Mechanical Seal: hardfaced silicon carbide sealing faces for long life, stainless steel metal parts, BUNA-N elastomers
- Shaft: 300-series stainless steel, short overhang for minimum shaft deflection
- Motor: fully submerged in an oil-filled chamber for efficient heat dissipation and permanent lubrication of bearings and the mechanical seal
- Fasteners: 300-series stainless steel
Applications: High-head residential pressure sewage systems where a gravity system is not practical.
Warnings: This pump must be connected to electrical service protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) where required by code. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury or death and property damage.
Do not run this pump dry for extended periods or operate it outside its rated flow and head range. Follow the manufacturer’s wiring, grounding, and float-switch/control-panel instructions for your specific installation.
